Some have asked us how to support us and the broader effort to fight bonded labor in South Asia and worldwide. We have some suggestions.
First, read about bonded labor and other forms of human trafficking and share what you learn. We recommend Harvard scholar Siddharth Kara’s book on bonded labor, Bonded Labor: Tackling the System of Slavery in South Asia for a very practical treatment with examples, policy proposals, and practical approaches to solving the problem. We will be sharing stories from South Asia and around the world on this site. Feel free to forward those on to others. He also has an excellent book on sex trafficking, Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery.
Please feel free to contact us directly to discuss more concrete ways that you could impact these issues.
Second, support International Justice Mission, your donations would go to efforts to rescue people from oppressive conditions and build the legal and political infrastructure to end those conditions. You can also buy IJM’s most recent book The Locust Effect: Why the End of Poverty Requires the End of Violence.
If you want to support us specifically and financially, go to this form and select “Amanda Butler and Soren Dayton.”
All contributions to IJM are tax-deductible in the United States.
